  • Worcester Cathedral Ferry now has permanent signage! Special thanks to Councillor Adam Scott who championed this initiative within the Council and worked to make this happen.
    The ferry service is one of Worcester's oldest features so it's brilliant to have its profile raised in this manner.

  • A busy start to the 2026 season! Thank you to all so far who have opted to use the ferry to cross the river.
    At this time of year the river current is strong so we attempt to use the ancient art of ferry gliding to make best use of the current when crossing, especially from the Meadow Steps side which are slightly offset higher up stream.

  • Doris was re-launched last week for the 2026 season. She'll need ten days in the water ahead of the season so her planks swell and become fully water tight again.

  • A noteable event today, in that Doris's old petrol outboard used for getting to and from her mooring is replaced with an electric outboard thanks to a fund raising campaign and generous donors.

    A few of the ferry team travelled to Market Deeping to collect the new engine and receive training from Coulam Marine.

  • The winter maintenance program is progressing well, with the outside hull completed. Next on the agenda is for the team to flip Doris over to start work on the insides.
